The Idea

A home that adapts
to the way you live.

A smart home is not the same as an automated home. Smart devices wait for instructions. A Loxone home anticipates — it senses occupancy, daylight, weather and time, learns the rhythm of your days, and quietly acts on its own.

Lights adjust themselves as the afternoon fades. Each room holds its own perfect temperature. Music follows you to the terrace. When the last person leaves, the house closes, arms itself and rests — without anyone reaching for a phone.

  • Anticipates needs instead of waiting for commands
  • Learns routines and adapts room by room, hour by hour
  • Simplifies daily life — fewer switches, fewer apps, less friction
  • Raises comfort while quietly lowering energy use

The Platform

What is Loxone.

Loxone is a complete building-automation platform, engineered in Austria, that unifies every technical system in your home under one intelligent brain: the Miniserver.

Unlike collections of isolated smart gadgets — a voice assistant here, a smart bulb there, a separate security app on your phone — Loxone connects lighting, climate, shading, audio, security, access and energy into a single coordinated system. The Miniserver processes everything locally, inside your home, with no dependency on cloud servers or internet connectivity.

The result is a home that genuinely understands occupancy, time of day, weather and your personal routines — and acts on them without you reaching for a phone.

One Ecosystem

Twelve systems.
One intelligence.

Twelve disciplines that usually live in separate apps and panels report to the same local brain. The Miniserver coordinates them into one choreography — and because everything is processed inside your home, the house keeps thinking even when the internet doesn’t.

Lighting · climate · security · access · blinds & curtains · audio · pools · irrigation · energy · entertainment · monitoring · automation — one ecosystem instead of a dozen apps.

Total Control

Fewer switches.
More control.

One unified touch point replaces the clutter of remotes, panels and apps — and a single free app carries the whole house in your pocket. Your home stops being manual.

Intelligent Touch controls

The Loxone Touch switch replaces banks of traditional switches with a single, elegant control point. Five touch zones command lighting, music, shading and your custom scenes — designed for the whole family to use intuitively.

  • Center: the room’s lighting scenes, one tap apart
  • Corners: music, volume, blinds and custom functions
  • Simple, unified switches in every room — no wall clutter
  • Smart bedside alarm clock with lighting control

Light that understands
the hour of the day.

Lighting is the fastest way to feel what intelligent architecture means. Scenes are composed like the rooms themselves — layered, warm and precise — then triggered by presence, daylight or a single touch.

One room at Nebulae, two of its moods — drag the divider. Every scene coordinates color, intensity and shading in a single gesture.

Everyday intelligence

  • Presence-activated lighting that factors in natural daylight
  • Lights turn off by themselves when nobody needs them
  • One switch — or one tap — turns off the whole house as you leave
  • Night mode guides you softly, never blinding anyone at 3 a.m.

Architectural ambience

  • Dimmable, tunable scenes for dinners, cinema, work and rest
  • Circadian-style routines that follow the natural arc of the day
  • Accent, cove and under-counter LED layers designed with the interiors
  • Colored lighting where it serves the space — never as a gimmick

Security by light

  • Lights mimic occupancy while you are away
  • Porch and landscape lighting react to arrival and sunset
  • Lights can flash when the doorbell rings or the alarm triggers
  • Central monitoring and control of every circuit in the app

Systems · 02

Every room at its own
perfect temperature.

In the tropics, comfort is a moving target — sun, humidity and afternoon rain change by the hour. Loxone measures each room and orchestrates HVAC, ventilation and shading together, so comfort comes from coordination, not brute force.

  • Individual room-by-room control of temperature and humidity
  • Occupancy detection — comfort is maintained while you’re there, energy saved when you’re not
  • Ventilation and dehumidification integrated with cooling
  • Weekly schedules, holiday calendars and gentle learning of your habits
  • Frost and overheat protection, maintenance reminders, full statistics in the app

Working in unison with shading and lighting, climate automation is one of the quietest — and largest — sources of energy savings in the house.

Systems · 03

Protection that is present, even when you are not.

Security in a Loxone home is not a separate alarm box — it is the house itself paying attention. The same sensors that shape light and climate watch over doors, windows and presence, and respond in seconds.

Security

  • Presence-based burglar alarm with easy day and night arming
  • Multi-staged alarm: lights flash, every speaker sounds, notifications fly out
  • Presence simulation while you travel — lights, blinds, even the TV
  • Cameras and history logs, checked from anywhere in the app
  • Optional panic buttons and delayed-arming routines

Access

  • Smart locks, keypads and fob readers replace loose keys
  • HD video intercom — see and speak with anyone at the door, from anywhere
  • Access codes per person, per schedule: family, guests, staff
  • App notifications with a recent-visitor history
  • Answering message when you prefer not to be disturbed

A house that spends
energy intelligently.

Real efficiency is not a dashboard — it is a house that decides well, every minute. Loxone monitors consumption in real time and prioritizes where energy goes, so efficiency happens automatically instead of depending on discipline.

  • Live consumption monitoring, circuit by circuit, with clear statistics
  • Solar integration — self-consumption first, the grid second
  • Battery storage orchestrated around your daily rhythm
  • EV charging that waits for surplus sun or off-peak hours
  • Load prioritization: comfort where it matters, savings where you don’t notice
  • Standby killers: whole zones power down when the house empties

Solar, battery and EV integrations are engineered per project, together with our electromechanical team — sized on real loads, not brochures.

Sound and cinema,
staged by the house.

Music that follows you from kitchen to pool. A living room that becomes a cinema in one gesture — lights dimming, blinds closing, sound rising. Entertainment stops being a stack of remotes and becomes part of the architecture.

Multiroom audio

  • Music in any room — or following you through the house
  • Stream Spotify and TuneIn, or play your own collection; AirPlay supported
  • Individual favorites per room, controlled from switch or app
  • Wake up to your favorite playlist; one touch silences the whole house

Cinema & TV

  • Movie night as a single scene: light, shading, sound, screen
  • Music auto-pauses in the living room when the TV turns on
  • Control the TV from the app or any Touch switch
  • TV can mimic occupancy while you are on holiday

The house speaks

  • Speakers announce a visitor at the gate — wherever you are
  • Predefined messages triggered by events in the home
  • Record your own announcements for the family
  • Every speaker becomes part of the alarm when it matters

Architecture that takes
care of you.

The deepest luxury is invisible: waking rested, breathing easy air, ending the day without friction. An intelligent home tends to the conditions your body actually feels — light, temperature, humidity, sound — all day, every day.

  • Better nights. Bedrooms cool and darken toward sleep; mornings return light gradually, like a sunrise indoors.
  • Natural rhythm. Scenes echo the day’s arc — cooler, brighter light for focus; warm, low light to unwind.
  • Healthy air. Humidity and ventilation quietly managed — essential in the tropics.
  • Less noise in your head. Departure checklists, locked doors, closed blinds — handled. The house worries so you don’t.

Intelligence, Honestly

What AI already does here —
and what comes next.

“AI” is the most overpromised word in the smart-home industry. We prefer precision: here is what your home does today, what can be responsibly integrated, and where the technology is heading. Nothing on this page pretends the future already shipped.

Available today

Autonomous intelligence, on-device

  • Presence, daylight and weather logic that acts without being asked
  • Climate routines that adapt to schedules, seasons and room use
  • Self-arming security, presence simulation and event responses
  • Energy prioritization reacting to solar production in real time
  • All processed locally on the Miniserver — your data stays home
Possible integrations

Added deliberately, per project

  • Voice assistants where a family truly wants them — scoped, not sprawling
  • Weather-service intelligence refining shading and irrigation decisions
  • Camera analytics for smarter alerts, kept on private hardware
  • Third-party AI services connected through controlled interfaces

Each integration is evaluated for privacy, stability and real usefulness before it touches your home.

Future evolution

Where this is heading

  • Natural conversation with the house — asking, not programming
  • Automations that draft themselves from observed habits, for your approval
  • Predictive optimization of comfort and energy before you feel the need
  • Early-warning maintenance: the house noticing wear before failure

We follow these developments closely at Nebulae — and adopt them only when they are ready to live in a real home.

The Alianz Method

Automation designed
from day one.

Most automation is an afterthought — bolted onto a finished house, fighting the architecture. At Alianz — the studio behind Nebulae — the automation engineer sits at the same table as the architect from the first sketch, inside the same BIM model as the structural and electromechanical teams.

  1. ArchitectureSpaces conceived with sensing, light layers and quiet technology in mind
  2. Electrical engineeringWiring, panels and cabinets planned for automation — not retrofitted around it
  3. Lighting designCircuits and scenes composed with the interiors, never after them
  4. HVAC & hydraulicsClimate zones, pools and irrigation born integrated
  5. Security & landscapePerimeter, access and garden intelligence in the master plan
  6. ConstructionOur own crews build what we drew — conduits, cabinets and all

The result of early integration is invisible: no exposed retrofits, no dead corners, fewer failure points — a system that performs better because the building was designed for it.

Why Loxone

A gadget collection is not
an intelligent home.

The difference shows up two years after move-in: when apps stop being updated, when the Wi-Fi hiccups, when the fourth ecosystem wants its own hub. This is why we committed to one platform — and became an official Loxone partner.

The difference Typical “smart” home Integrated Loxone home

Questions, Answered

Everything clients ask
before visiting.

Does Loxone work without internet?

Yes — this is one of its defining strengths. The Miniserver processes automation locally inside your home, so lighting, climate, scenes, access and security keep working even with the internet down. An internet connection is only needed for remote access from outside the house, notifications on your phone and online music streaming.

Can Loxone be added to an existing home?

Yes. New construction allows the deepest integration — designed from day one — but existing homes can be automated using Loxone’s wireless technology and staged renovations. After a project analysis we’ll tell you honestly what fits your house, and what we’d phase for later.

Can the system grow over time?

That is how it’s designed. Many clients begin with lighting, climate and security, then add audio, pool, irrigation or energy management years later. The ecosystem is modular — your initial investment keeps its value as the system expands.

Does it integrate with air conditioning and HVAC?

Yes. Room-by-room climate control is one of the platform’s core disciplines, and our electromechanical engineers design the HVAC integration as part of the project — including ventilation and humidity management, which matter enormously in Costa Rica.

Does it support audio and entertainment?

Yes — multiroom audio with streaming services such as Spotify and TuneIn, your own music library, AirPlay support, per-room favorites, and scenes that coordinate TV, lighting and shading for cinema nights.

Can it integrate with solar panels?

Yes. Loxone can monitor production and consumption, prioritize self-consumption, manage battery storage and schedule heavy loads — such as EV charging or pool pumps — around your solar production. Each energy integration is engineered per project.

What happens if the home changes owners?

The system transfers with the house. User accounts, access codes and personal preferences are reset and reconfigured for the new family, and the underlying programming can be adapted to their routines. Automation done properly adds lasting resale value.

Can the programming be updated later?

Always. Scenes, schedules and behaviors are software — as your life changes, we adjust them. Day-to-day preferences you can change yourself in the app; deeper changes are part of our long-term support.

Where can I experience the system before deciding?

At Nebulae, our Loxone Experience Center — real architecture running the full ecosystem: lighting, climate, security, access, audio and scenes. A visit answers more questions than any brochure.

Can I visit Nebulae?

Yes — visits are by appointment so we can dedicate the time to you. Schedule your visit via WhatsApp and experience it in person.
