01 — The encounter

Playa Tivives,
Costa Rica.

Brisa was rescued at the edge of the sea in February 2024 — a body of wood modelled by time, wind, water and every process the coast could offer it. It had been lying there, discarded, and yet its presence was impossible to ignore.

The intervention did not give it a new identity. It recognised the one that already lived in the wood — and respected its original silhouette completely.

02 — The form

Identity beyond
the face.

Brisa understands portraiture beyond the face. Veins, cracks, erosions and curves form the biography of a body that needs no human features to transmit presence and character.

The piece does not represent an identity — it contains one. Its soft, organic curves seem shaped by the breeze itself, and gave the work its name: a subtle, elegant word for a form of feminine spirit.

03 — The interpretation

She stood up again.

Found lying on a beach, Brisa today stands — firm, luminous, with the presence of a dancer who knows exactly who she is. She represents the strength of rising again: elegance, confidence and character recovered after everything the sea and time had done. Of all the works of Ojo de Arte, she is the one with the most deeply human meaning — and from her, the collection Hermanas de Brisa was born.

04 — The light

A scar became
a path of light.

The line of LED light travels along a crack that already existed in the wood. Instead of hiding that scar, the light makes it visible — transforming it into a path that acknowledges her history, the inner force that helped her rise.

The illuminated sphere represents a new awakening, in which the soul of the piece shines again.

05 — The making

Stability, born
from fragility.

The metal base holds Brisa from her most vulnerable point — proposing that stability can emerge precisely from what was once fragile.

The LED line is embedded, its connections concealed, and the whole work is built to be serviced without harming the wood. Found at the edge of the sea, she stands again — her wear integrated as an inseparable part of who she is.

07 — The artist and the work

Family, before
collection.

Brisa is one of the artist's most personal works — the piece that consolidated the identity of Ojo de Arte and a new way of interpreting wood. In 2026 she was prepared as a candidate for CROMA, the CRCC Biennial.
