Halo — dark wood holding a glowing crystalline moon inside a warm ring of light

Ojo de Arte — the collection

Founding piece · 05

HALO

When moonlight passes through ice,
the sky draws a circle.

The concept

“An ephemeral phenomenon,
made permanent.”

MoonAtmosphereHaloMatterLight

01 — The phenomenon

The moon's
quiet crown.

On certain nights, a ring of light surrounds the moon. It happens when moonlight crosses tiny ice crystals suspended in high clouds — each one a prism, refracting the glow into a perfect circle.

It awakens serenity, mystery and a silent kind of beauty. It lasts a moment, and it cannot be kept. Halo was born from the wish to keep it anyway.

02 — The form

Clouds,
carved by the sea.

The piece of driftwood was found in April 2024, its cavities and folds shaped by water and time. In the composition it becomes the clouds — the atmosphere that embraces the moon and sustains its halo.

Nothing about its silhouette was altered. The sky it holds was already there; it only needed to be seen.

03 — The interpretation

Crystals of ice,
crystals of stone.

The ice crystals that make the halo possible are evoked in the piece by incorporated amethyst stones — small geodes of violet light hidden in the wood's cavities.

They are not ornament. They are the physical translation of the atmosphere: the exact part of the sky that turns light into a circle.

04 — The territory

The beach
came with it.

The sand at the base was collected on the same beach where the piece was found. It is not a finish — it is memory. The territory does not merely describe the work's origin; it is physically part of it.

Halo unites light, nature and memory, and celebrates the harmony of those fleeting phenomena that are naturally beautiful.

05 — The light

Two atmospheres,
one sky.

Halo has been recorded in different atmospheres of light — a warm moon inside a golden ring, and a violet reading where the amethysts seem to tint the whole sky of the piece.

07 — The collection

The Halos.

From this founding piece, a family was born: Halo-V, Halo-F, Halo-E and Halo-Y — each a new reading of the same phenomenon. In Halo-F, an entire ring of amethysts evokes the ice: a majestic presence, like a throne where the moon is the queen and the halo her crown.
